Biography
Seethalakshmi Prakash (born May 7, 2005) is an Indian singer. She rose to fame in 2020 as the grand prize winner of the premiere season of Malayalam reality television series, Top Singer.
In her brief career, she has recorded over 20 songs in Malayalam, and performed on multiple albums.
During the marathon 22-month run of the Top Singer first season, Seethalakshmi competed in a total of 82 episodes. Contestants were assigned a variety of semiclassical and popular songs: with a voice remarkable for its distinctive purity of tone, Seethalakshmi performed well in all ranges of music. She was judged "best performer of the day" in 38 of her 82 episodes, and with the grand prize for the season.
Following her grand prize win on Top Singer, and precluded by the coronavirus pandemic of 2020-2021 from traveling to performances abroad, Seethalakshmi appeared by videolink in concerts and in stage shows to international audiences in London, UK, and Philadelphia, USA.
Seethalakshmi’s parents are Prakash Puthunilam and Bindu Prakash. She has a twin sister, Sethulakshmi, and an older sister, SreeLakshmi. She is a student at the St Peter’s Higher Secondary School, Kurumpanadom, Changanassery, India.
